Spaces
Our incredible indoor and outdoor spaces offer something for everyone who joins us.
Pettigrew Dining Hall
Our dining hall is the heart of Camp Willson. As you drive into Camp, one of your first stops will be Pettigrew Hall. Our dining hall can seat 300 people, usually 10-12 per table. Our delicious meals are served family-style at Summer Camp and during most Weekend Camps.
ClarArt Conference Center
Our Conference Center is a year-round multi-purpose building with three meeting rooms and a restroom. The upper level is 35’ x 70’ and has an indoor fireplace, restrooms, a kitchenette and a PA system. It can seat up to 200 people. The lower level has two classroom meeting spaces.
Camp Office
Our camp staff is here in our office next to Pettigrew Dining Hall.
Critter Room Nature Center
Our nature center is home to many of our Outdoor Education classes. Many of our reptiles and amphibians call this building their home. This building has two small meeting spaces that comfortably fit around 12 people.
Waterfront Amphitheater
Our opening campfires typically occur at our waterfront amphitheater, which overlooks our beautiful lake. There is plenty of seating for around 200 people.
Council Ring
Our closing campfires are typically at our large fire ring in the forest, accommodating around 200 people.
Airnasium
Our covered, open-air activity area, Summer Camp families start their check-in at the Airnasium. This space is excellent for when we want to be outside, but the weather could be better.
The Bungalow
The Bungalow houses our medical staff in the summer.
Cabins
Our Camp features different kinds of cabins around our camp: Main Cabins, Back Cabins, Ranch Cabins and Frontier Village.
Activity Areas
We can’t wait to have fun with you at camp! YMCA Camp Willson staff must provide leadership for archery, challenge activities, riflery and all aquatic activities.
Adventure
Our adventure activities foster teamwork, group communication and trust.
Challenge Courses
Challenge course activities include:
- Climbing Wall
- 11-element High Ropes Course**
- Leap of Faith**
- Double Zipline**
- Giant Swing**
*Camp Willson staff are required to supervise and teach these activities to all groups regardless of age. We include the cost of these events for groups and rentals; please talk to our staff about scheduling these activities for your group.
**These activities are available at an additional charge with a reservation. Depending on the group size, YMCA Camp Willson may recommend hiring extra staff to help facilitate group initiatives.
Nature
Wetlands
There is a walkway through our wetlands near the waterfront for our groups to enjoy. Many other spots around the lake are fun to explore.
Hiking Trails
Approximately 10 miles of trails throughout Camp Willson provide opportunities for learning or reflection. The native prairie, woodlands and open fields complement the grounds nicely. Ask us for suggested paths and locations.
Sports
Sports Fields
This outdoor area includes:
- Three tennis courts (also great for pickleball!)
- One basketball court
- One volleyball court
- Soccer, football and softball fields
- GaGa (a modified version of dodgeball)
- Archery range*
- Air rifle range*
We’ve surfaced and lit our courts, making them an excellent option for night games! We provide all sports equipment upon request. Groups that want to play pick-up games after meals and other breaks should bring their equipment.
Waterfront
Enjoy our natural, spring-fed lake under the supervision of our staff. All ages must wear personal floatation devices while boating. No fishing license is required, as we privately own the lake. Fishing is catch-and-release.
Summer
Swim at the beach, play on our water trampoline, go fishing or stand-up paddleboard. Boating options include canoeing and kayaking.
Spring, Summer & Fall
Enjoy canoeing, kayaking and fishing as weather permits.
